After many months of holding out hope for COVID to disappear, we have been faced with the unfortunate decision of changing our wedding plans. With your health and safety being our number one priority, we have decided to limit the number of attendees to just our wedding party and our parents. We will be setting up a live stream link for those of you who would like to watch us tie the knot. The plan is to have a large celebration in California when things get back to normal and we can do so safely. The thought of us not being able to celebrate our love, with everyone that we love, hurts our hearts, but we know you all will be there in spirit and we are looking forward to seeing your faces in the future! Thank you all for being so understanding and for showering us with love. We love you all so much!
Like many couples of the millennial generation, they met on Tinder. What a shock! After a few days of messaging back and forth, mostly about random Disney shows/movies, they finally decided to meet. The second they saw each other in person, all of their nerves seemed to dissipate and they felt at home with one another. Of course they decided to meet right before winter break so they weren't able to see each other again for about a month. They were in constant communication during that entire break and both agreed to go on more dates once they were back in Eugene. Their first official date back in Eugene after winter break was to a local brewpub called McMenamins and according to Jason, after Madison ordered a double bacon cheese burger and a beer, he knew she was something special. Madison knew they were meant to be when they started singing in the car together that night. Ever since then they have been by each other's sides through thick and thin.
It all started with a plan to be alone for a little bit during the family vacation to Hawaii. The entire family drove over to the Waikaloa Resort to view the sunset. Jason and Madison wondered off to what she believed to be a random spot in the little bay, but little did she know, Jason scoped the place out to find the perfect spot earlier in the day. As the sun was getting closer to setting they started dancing in the little white gazebo to their favorite songs. When "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran came on, Jason asked Madison that fateful question..."Madison Noel Fernandez, will you marry me?". She was at a loss for words and just instantly starting shaking her head yes, she couldn't get the words out and tears instantly started to well up. After he put the ring on her finger, the first thing they heard was "DID YOU SAY YES?!" from Madison's mom in the background. Apparently the entire family had been secretly following and timing when they all were to appear! Needless to say, it was a magical day and one that they will forever remember.
