Jason and I met at Howard University in 2016. I was a freshman and he was a sophomore, and we met at a party during my freshman week. We remained friends throughout our time at Howard but never became anything serious until March of my senior year (2020). Let's just say he wasn't ready yet, lol. But the rest is history!

Jason had been telling me that he wanted us to do a couple's photo shoot for a while. So, he told me that on December 15th he wanted us to finally do the photo shoot, and he had booked a photographer. My antennas automatically went up because I thought "he would plan all of that without talking to me first." But I let it go. Jason ended up getting the help of my family and friends to help plan a beautiful surprise. When I walked in and saw him standing there surrounded by all the roses and a photographer, I automatically knew what was happening and started to cry. I actually tried to run out of the room, but they wouldn't let me. He got down on one knee and popped the question, and I said yes immediately. Then to my surprise, my family, my friends, and his family all popped out from the back. I was so overjoyed that I started to cry again. I don't know how he was able to pull off such a big surprise with me knowing or figuring anything out, but it was beautiful, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
