We met on Mother's Day, 2022 at Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church. Grace was travelling to see she and Jason's mutual friends, Jen and Samer, in Salt Lake City. Jason introduced himself to this lovely California visitor during the Agape meal following the Divine Liturgy. A few weeks later, Jason sent Grace a message at the urging of our mutual friends. Even though we were in different states, we wanted to keep getting to know each other! After a few months of texting, facetime chats, a virtual chocolate tasting date, and a cross country move, we decided to meet each other in Boston where Jason had relocated for a new job. During this trip in the beautiful New England fall, our affection for each other deepened and we decided to start a bicoastal relationship! Over the next year, we had many adventures together as we committed to see each other in person every month and praying together every night—even when we were over 3,000 miles and 3 time zones apart. Some of our favorite memories falling in love include cooking together, camping in Yosemite National Park, geode hunting in Utah, going to concerts, reading together, and solving the NYT daily puzzles together. On December 23, 2023, Jason proposed to Grace at Sugarhouse Park and she enthusiastically said yes! We can't wait to close out our long distance relationship chapter and start our home together!
