We are monitoring COVID-19 closely and how it will impact our wedding plans. The unfortunate reality is that we may not get the wedding we envisioned originally, but we thank you so much for bearing with us during this uncertain time. We want to emphasize that the health and safety of our guests are very important to us. As such, we are asking all our guests to please be vaccinated against COVID before attending our wedding. If vaccination is not possible (and we understand that it might not be due to medical concerns), we ask that you please prioritize taking a COVID test in the days leading up to the wedding. Additionally, we will make sure that masks and hand sanitizer are readily available to guests upon arrival. We understand that this is a challenging time and that there are many factors to consider before making an informed decision about your RSVP. In light of the surge of delta variant cases, the CDC has released updated mask guidance for fully vaccinated people. As of August 15, Cameron County is an area with a high level of community transmission. To reduce the risk of our guests of being infected with the delta variant and possibly spreading it to others, we are asking our guests and vendors to please wear a mask except while eating or drinking. We encourage you to bring your own mask that fits well and is comfortable, but we will also make sure that masks are readily available to you upon arrival. We ask everyone to please help us make our wedding environment a safe one. We know this is a difficult time and truly appreciate your cooperation. We will continue to monitor the CDC’s guidance and may make updates to our own safety precautions accordingly.
Both our ceremony and reception will be at an indoor venue. While our reception space is significantly oversized for the number of guests we expect to be in attendance, please keep in mind that it is still an indoor venue with a traditional banquet-style seating arrangement. We are working with our venue to try to maximize physical distancing, but we cannot guarantee that this will be feasible. Our ceremony space will also have a traditional rows of chairs seating arrangement and will almost certainly not allow for physical distancing. As much as we would love for you to join us for our ceremony, we completely understand if you prefer to opt out of this portion of our celebration and join us for the reception only.
To the extent possible, yes. To help our guests communicate their comfort level about interacting with other guests, we will be providing social distancing wristbands (yes, these are a thing! We are working hard to make our wedding as COVID safe as possible. We are asking all our guests to please get vaccinated against COVID. Based on new CDC guidance, we also ask our guests to please wear a mask. We will be having a plated sit-down dinner, and we have confirmed with our venue that the waitstaff will be wearing masks. Our bartender will also be wearing a mask.
