Question

How is Coronavirus affecting the event?

Answer

There are many fluid changes going on in reaction to both local laws and local business regulations. We are trying to keep everyone as safe as possible and will update everyone as much as possible when we know what is changing. As of now Ohio requires facemasks indoors when not eating, drinking, exercising, or at a private residence. They are also required outside if you cannot be socially distant. Ohio also requires last call to be at 10pm and all bars must close by 11pm.

Question

What do you mean by "formal" atttire?

Answer

No, tuxes and evening gowns are not required! Think nice dresses, slacks, button down shirts and ties, maybe a nice jacket or sports coat, etc. Please be mindful that the ceremony is in a Catholic Church!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off!

Question

Is there transportation from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

There will not be transportation from the ceremony to the reception. If you plan on staying in a hotel for the night, check out our "Travel" page to see which hotels offer shuttle services from the hotel to the reception. Update due to Covid-19: No hotels will be providing shuttle services as it is difficult to maintain a level of cleanliness appropriate for the virus.

Question

How long will the ceremony last?

Answer

Because our faith is so important to us individually and as a couple, we are choosing to celebrate our marriage in the Catholic Church. The ceremony will be a full Mass, so expect it to last approximately an hour.

Question

The ceremony is at 1pm but the reception doesn't start until 5pm - what should we do in between?

Answer

This is a great opportunity for family to meet and spend time with each other! Feel free to head back to hotels to socialize - even if you are not staying the night in the hotels, both hotels that we have blocks with will have a lobby or small area that you are welcome to gather in. Also, the Immaculate Conception Chapel is on our Alma Mater's campus, so for those of you who have never seen the University of Dayton campus, please feel free to walk around and see where we spent four of the best years of our lives. Otherwise - check out our "Things to Do" tab; we have included a list of all of our favorite things to do in Dayton, and we would love to have you check them out. As for the wedding party - we will be taking pictures at this time, but we will catch up with you at the reception!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

For the ceremony, you can park in any single letter lot on campus (i.e. "C", "A", etc) without a parking pass. It is recommended to park in lot P as it is closest to the Chapel. For the reception, Yankee Trace has a parking lot and there are no restrictions on where to park.
