St. Patrick's Day 2014. Our good friends Tony & Wade were hosting their Music Biz Monday live talk show at the Rock N' Roll Lodge. I (Dani) was invited to be a guest on the show. The next guest, our friend Chris, let slip that he was single, and the show suddenly became a dating show. My smart-ass comment in the crowd, about also being single, was heard by the girl with the microphone. Next thing I know, I'm the next contestant on lets get our friends dates! A little while later a girl I've never met before came up and asked if I was single. I reluctantly said yes, worried she was interested! She grabbed me by the hand and drug me across the room, telling me I have to meet her friend. I warned her if he's "not a long haired musician, I'm not interested" (I have a type!) When we approached she ripped off his beanie and asked "does a long Mohawk work?". I reached up and ran my hand through his hair and said "Yup! That'll do!...Hi I'm Dani!" and shook his hand. Once he shook off the confusion of what just happened he smiled and replied "Hi! I'm Jason." And thus began our journey. The girl was Danielle Gregory who apparently minutes before had just vanished mid conversation with Jason then returned with me in tow. We had no idea that random encounter would lead to where we are now.
For our 4 year anniversary we took a drive down to the Oregon coast. I (Dani) had heard of this place where a waterfall hits the ocean beach. It sounded beautiful and I had to see it. As usual, I get a hair brained idea about wanting to go somewhere, so he loads up the car and takes me wherever I want to go. It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous drive. When we got to the beach I was racing the tide to make it to the waterfall. We got there no problem at all! I had a suspicion that he was going to propose. I was even getting disappointed when we were at the falls and he wasn't giving any inclination that he was going propose. So we wondered down the beach a bit further. I found this amazing tide pool at the base of a shallow sea cave. I was calling him over to come look at the anemones and urchins. When he didn't respond I turned around to see where he was. That's when I tripped over him. Turns out he was kneeling in the sand behind me waiting for me to turn around. He asked I said yes and here we are! P.S. Turns out he felt the falls were to crowded to do it right.
