You can travel to the Vineyard by plane or by boat. In October, the only ferry running is the steamship authority out of Falmouth, Ma/Woods Hole and all ferries arrive into Vineyard Haven. You can bring a car on the ferry if you make an advance reservation, otherwise, there is no reservation needed. Drive to Woods Hole and park in designated lots and shuttle to the boat, purchase your tickets on arrival and walk on. For schedules and reservations go to www.steamshipauthority.com. If you choose to fly, MVY is a wonderful and simple airport to fly in and out of!! Whether you arrive by boat or plane, there are plenty of taxis parked and waiting to take you where you need to go.
Yes!!! You must make a reservation on the Steamship Authority for your vehicle, either by phone or online. Reservations for October open on June 18th. Arrive to the ferry 30 minutes prior to departure time.
The last ferry out of Martha's Vineyard is at 9:30 PM out of Vineyard Haven. You would need to be leaving the reception no later than 9 pm, earlier if you are travelling in your own car, as you need to be at the ferry 30 minutes prior to departure if you are bringing a vehicle.
See the travel page for options including house shares and hotel room blocks. What town you stay in is up to you!! The ferry comes into Vineyard Haven. Both the wedding ceremony and reception are in Oak Bluffs. Chantale and Jason are staying in Oak Bluffs. Take your pick!!! Please note, some but not all hotels have a 2 night minimum.
No. Although both in Oak Bluffs, they are about 2 miles apart and not easy to walk. Best to take a cab, uber, lyft, rent a car, bring a car or catch a ride with someone who did!!
There is a small parking lot at Our Lady Star of the Sea church along with limited curbside parking along the street. The Sailing Camp does have an off road parking lot with ample parking to accommodate guests.
