We first met in 2008 in Mr. Almo's class in Protective Services. At first we were only friends who only saw each other for 3 hours a day. It wouldn't be until 2 years from then that we would become more than just friends. Towards the end of my sophomore year of high school, I would text Jason and ask if he would want to comeover to hangout by the pool. Jason, however, would have plans with his BFF, Tristan. Some of you may already know, but Jason ended up having a heart issue called WPW, Wolff-Parkinson- White which he needed surgery for. Since he was bored in a hospital room and Tristan wasn't around 24/7, he started texting me. After all was good, he asked me out to the movies to see Knight and Day. A couple days after that on July 19, 2010, Jason finally asked me out after watching some weird zombie movie that to this day, I still have no idea what its called, but Jason loved it... Fast forward to 2025, after 15 years of dating, Jason decided to finally pop the question. Poor guy attempted to propose TWICE using our cat Aurora... First try, he set up the camera in the dining room, put the ring on Aurora's collar, and waited for me to come up the steps to greet Aurora like I always do. Well I did do that. I picked her up, gave her her lovies, and put her right down and went about my day. Jason apparently just sat there and stared at me. Even tried to get me to look at her collar by saying he took off her flea and tick collar, which I then responded with, "Where did you put that?! She needs it on due to all the ticks in the yard! Go put it back on." The next attempt was a few days later, doing the same thing. However, I texted him saying I was working late and don't know when I will be home. He then again, took the ring off Aurora and gave up for the time being. In September, Jason went on his family Disney trip where he thought of ways he could propose that my oblivious butt will not miss. He knew I loved Disney mystery pin boxes so he got me the dog mystery pins. When he came home, I was in my Halloween Pajamas sitting on the couch. He gave me the box of pins and says "Sorry the baggies are open, Janice couldn't wait and wanted to see what pins you got". I open the box and the first thing to come out was the ring. Now my oblivious self sat there thinking, huh I didn't know this was a mystery ring box... Took me a bit to realize Jason asked me to marry him, and that it was an engagement ring... In my defense, he was not on one knee, but knowing me, I probably still would have not noticed...
