Wedding Party

We are so grateful for these people who have stood beside us beyond our actual wedding day. We asked each of them to share a favorite memory and so enjoyed reliving and learning from each of the stories they shared. They have been a support and encouragement through so much of our lives and we are so grateful for each of them. We love you all so much!

The night Amanda was born was one of the most exciting of my childhood. I remember, at seven years old, eagerly anticipating her arrival. I stayed up all night long - no way I could sleep while my first sister was being born! Having Amanda as a sister has surpassed all the expectations I had as an excited little girl and I am so thrilled to stand with her as she enters this new season of life! Welcome to the family, Jason!

When Jason was younger, I’m talking like 3-4 years old, he would always wait for the school bus to drop me off and yell for me until I got inside the house! I miss baby Jason. So much has changed..sigh. My favorite memory with Amanda was when we were invited to the engagement party and I got to spend some quality time with her and her family. It was such a warm family atmosphere and I look forward to many more memories!

My favorite story of Amanda and Jason happened soon after they started dating. Amanda came to visit me in Virginia and I asked her if she would miss Jason. She said that she would but they’d be fine because they were taking everything very slow and they weren’t the clingy type. I just responded with “okayyyyyy.” Amanda spent most of the visit either talking about Jason or texting him. When I’d ask her if she missed him she’d instantly melt and talk about how great he was. It was official. My big sister found someone she couldn’t live without. I was happy for her and upon actually meeting Jason I was thrilled to welcome him into the family. I love my big sister and I know that Jason is more than just good for her. He was made for her. I love you two!!

I remember when Jason was planning his proposal to Amanda. Shortly after discussing his proposal ideas, Jason sent me a videoclip of him singing one of his original Jason G songs to her. It was the silliest and cutest thing I've ever seen. Watching him sing to "The future Mrs. Gnasigamany" immediately filled my heart with joy -- the kind of joy one can only get from seeing a beloved friend experience and give love to someone else. I'm happy that Jason has found a forever love with Amanda. May you two and my future God children be blessed and happy for many years to come!

My favorite story of Amanda and Jason is easily walking into their apartment and seeing Jason hard at work on his computer. And I’m sitting there thinking wow when is he not studying always working hard on his school. N he just goes “oh hey ally I’m almost done here. I’m rewriting the directions to this game because the directions are just too complicated to understand.” That was the exact moment I knew wow he really is perfect for Amanda. 😂😂 They’re dorky but they’re perfect for each other and amazing people. Love it that I have someone to talk the little things through with the level of analysis as if we were debating religions. Love y’all!!! ❤️❤️❤️

My favorite memory of Jason is the time we made our matching Scrubs tank tops for beach week. Not only was it so much fun actually creating them, but they took on a new meaning after we parted ways for med school. Now every time I wear it (which is surprisingly frequently), I'm reminded of the music that Jason and I made together, the late night Wendy's, our Organic Chem professor's fascination with rubber duckies, and all the laughs we shared. Furthermore, it reminds me to strive to try to be as giving, selfless, and dedicated as Jason is. Now, if you want funniest story, it just might be the time that we found a Hello Kitty onesie at Walmart.

One of my favorite memories with Amanda was during one summer at the lake when we were in high school. She was getting in shape for her volleyball season and said that her coach required them to run 8miles a day for one week. So I joined her to run endless laps down the dirt road and through the woods. I can't remember now if we made the whole 8 miles but I know we almost died afterwards.....only to find out later that her coach meant run 8miles over the course of one week! But that's Amanda, always determined and excelling above and beyond :) Good luck running with her, Jason! :D

My favorite memory that I've shared with Jason and Amanda was definitely an evening we spent together playing board games. Not only was it a fun game and nice to hang out with them both (even though they were merciless), but the best part of that night was when we took a break between rounds, they whipped out a guitar, and lead us in a few worship songs before we resumed our game. It was a beautiful picture of how life should be - sharing community with good friends, punctuated by the worship of God. There have been other good memories too. Like trying to teach Jason how to swim backstroke. Or watching his goofy grin as he relishes playing Big Band music for a crowd. Or watching in awe as he walked through snow in flip flops all winter.

My favorite memory with y'all (so far) is from the day you guys got engaged! I was in charge of distracting Amanda while Jason set everything up for the proposal at her apartment. We went to the Shops at Clearfork to check out all the new stores and restaurants. When we first got to the shopping center I mentioned a restaurant that had soufflés because I thought it might be neat to try it, but Amanda wasn't hungry. Amanda & I had been browsing through the stores and I was excited because I was going to get her back to her apartment at the time Jason requested. We got back to my car and she said hey want to try that soufflé place? In fear of ruining the proposal I agreed! We shared a chocolate soufflé and she ended up being an hour & a half late to her own proposal 😂 Sorry Jason!!

My Fiancé, Kelly, and I have thoroughly enjoyed walking alongside Jason and Amanda in faith and in life since we have known them. From singing at Hospice Choir, to showing others love at Laundry Love, to meeting up weekly to sharpen and encourage each other—it has been a blessing to know these two and to see them run after Christ.

Whew, it is hard to think of just one memory!…we have shared so much through the years. When I think of my friendship with Amanda I think of high school science, working out and eating popcorn, photoshoots, going to church events together, trying on wigs, good conversation, and so much more! Amanda and I met in high school and it truly feels like we have “grown up” together and been there to watch each other figure out life. I was so thankful to have her by my side at my wedding and now it is such a joy to be a part of her special day. Amanda, I am so excited for you and Jason and I praise the Lord for your faithful friendship! Love you, sweet friend!

Jason is a man of many talents, incredibly wise, superb musician, and a genuinely honest person. My favorite memory of us goes back to 8th grade Algebra class. During class we were assigned problems from the textbook, Jason was quick to finish his problem while the rest of us were still scratching our heads. I would ask Jason how he finished so quickly and his response was, “its magic”. I was determined to learn this “magic”. It took some time but eventually I was answering problems almost as fast as Jason and received a new found interest in Math, so much interest that I chose to become an Aerospace Engineer. Jason I just want to say thank you for challenging me to learn your magic, you inspire those around you with your hard work and determination. Congratulations to you and Amanda!
