We’re getting married!

We met in chemistry class, but the sparks weren’t flying just yet. It started on the fateful day that Annalyn (one of the maids of honor!) called Alexis to come to the ARC gym where Jason was playing basketball, leading with “he’s really good!” Alexis made her way over and to her surprise, this cute nerdy boy was fast on the court and making his 3s. Alexis swooned and the chemistry sparked. After Alexis asked Jason for his number, it was then that the ‘doing chemistry homework til late,’ ‘sharing smoothies at the ike,’ and ‘going to PSA club meetings’ all started. Not long after, Jason asked Alexis to be his girlfriend.

Fast forward 12 years later, Jason took Alexis to Madeira, an island near Portugal, where they spent the days canyoneering, boating, and hiking. On one beautiful spring morning, Jason drove up him and Alexis to a beach location at the crack of dawn. After finding the perfect patch of sand to settle their towels and just before the sun began the rise, Jason got to setting up the tripod. He shoo-ed Alexis away and said “just stand over there!” And like a 2000s romance movie, Alexis turned around and found Jason on one knee, shy and apprehensive, knowing that 5 other strangers were watching them. They shared an embrace and as Alexis removed one of her other rings from her finger - and dropped it - Jason knew he had the one.
