Same college and year? Check. Same major? Check. Mutual friends? Check. Neighboring fraternity and sorority houses? Check. You would have thought Alexa and Jason began dating at the University of Maryland. Nope! They probably crossed paths a million times but never met. This love story begins a few years after they both left College Park. Jason was at an engagement party for Matt, one of his best friends, when he started talking to Nicole, one of Alexa’s best friends. Jason told Nicole that he was moving down to the DC area for a new job, and Nicole said she knew someone that was looking for a roommate. Little did Jason know at that moment, his life was going to change forever. After texting and talking on the phone, Alexa and Jason decided to find an apartment together. They found a two bed, two bath in Arlington. As soon as they moved in together, Alexa and Jason hit it off. They spent hours talking. They purposely ate dinner at their kitchen counter together every night and wouldn’t part ways until it was time to go to sleep. Their budding friendship grew quickly, and Alexa and Jason soon did everything together - from tennis and runs to DC Happy Hours and parties. A few months went by, and this strong friendship would grow to be so much more. After hanging out with Alexa on a Friday night at the brink of summer, Jason finally mustered up the courage (after receiving the go ahead from his best man, Jake) to tell Alexa how he felt. And of course, after some talking, they kissed. The next week, Jason took Alexa on their first date picking her up at her bedroom door with flowers in hand. After two and half years of laughing, talking, and adventures, Jason planned a weekend full of activities with Alexa and got down on one knee in Old Town Alexandria on a late Saturday afternoon in October. Alexa said yes. :) We will always be grateful for that two bed, two bath. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on our big day! See you soon!
