WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!

If I had to describe our story in one word, it would be redemption. Jason and I met at IHOP while I was working in Missouri in 2010. We were together all the time. Things didn't work out for me so eventually I had to move back to Wisconsin. We thought it would end there. However, God had other plans. He blessed us with a beautiful baby boy named Elijah. At first, I was upset with the situation I was in but Jason wanted to be there for Eli. So, Jason would drive to Wisconsin to see Eli, and I would drive to Missouri with Eli to stay for a while. After a couple of years of this, we grew closer. We even became friends again. That didn't last long before the feelings came back also. We would see each other and talk more. Eventually, God's redeeming love brought us back together and we couldn't be happier to be a whole family!

We were up in Minnesota for the Reitan Family Christmas weekend. This year was special because we were celebrating my grandma's 80th birthday! So we took a trip to Duluth to go to Bentleyville (tour of lights). It was incredibly crowded there. People were shoulder to shoulder, and we lost over half the family in minutes. Finally, we found a spot that had a open lighted tunnel and stopped there to rally the family back together. After we got everyone together, Katie (my matron of honor) suggested quick family pictures and we were up first. There was so much chaos around that I was completely surprised when we posed for a picture and Jason starts saying, "Is everyone paying attention?". I looked at him in confusion and kept asking "what?". His response was, "Until God calls one of us home, will you be my wife?". How could I say no?! It was perfect!
