How We Met

Chicks dig guys that hold babies

Jason works in the nursery at the church that we both attend and had a special bond with my youngest son, Isaiah. One day when I was leading worship, Jason brought Isaiah down the stage to see me, and that's when I just started to see him in a different light. After a prayer and worship night at church, we struck up a conversation and wound up talking for about 45 minutes and realized how much we had in common. After a few months of hanging out, long talks, and sending The Office memes back and forth, we realized we were more than friends, and we decided to jump in and see where this went.

The Proposal

02.10.2020

One of our favorite shows to watch together is Hell's Kitchen. Back in October, Jason found out that Gordon Ramsay was opening a Hell's Kitchen restaurant in South Lake Tahoe, and booked us a reservation for February 10th. After a perfect snowy vacation with friends in South Lake Tahoe in November, it became a special place to us. We found little restaurants we fell in love with, cute shops, and quaint coffee stops that we liked wandering in together. Out in front of Heavenly resort, there's a huge chair made out of skis that we stopped to take pictures at. After our awesome vacay, we were counting down the days until February when we could come back. I had a sneaking suspicion that Jason was going to propose at Hell's Kitchen. We returned in February with our friends Dino and Rachel, and spent the morning walking around our new favorite little stops. We had breakfast at the Red Hut Cafe, got coffee, wandered a few shops, and then stopped to take pictures again at the giant chair in front of Heavenly. After Jason and I took our pictures, he turned and looked at me, and started his incredibly sweet speech. He hopped down off the chair, got down on one knee, and popped the question!
