COVID Safety

Updated 9/14/2021 From the very beginning we decided to host our wedding in Texas so that family and friends could join our celebration. Many of our guests are vulnerable to COVID-19 because they are over the age of 60 as well as our nieces and nephews who are under the age of 8. This message is our attempt to help make this safe and easy, as we do our best to start our marriage while also prioritizing health, safety, and joy. See the below updated FAQ for more on what you can expect at our wedding. We value all of the empathy and grace you have given us so far. Thank you again so much for your love and support. See you on Oct. 8! Jason & Cecilia
Question

How many guests will be attending?

Answer

125

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be held outdoors or indoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, our ceremony will be held outdoors. Reception will be indoors, and we have done our best to create a venue layout so guests will be seated with their family and/or close friends.

Question

Do I need to wear a mask?

Answer

We know you’re excited about the wedding, and we want to provide a comfortable experience. There will be a few exceptions on mask wearing for family photos outdoors as well as for the wedding party during the ceremony and the reception. However, with current CDC guidelines in mind, all guests ages 2+ will be required to wear two-layered masks. We will have some available right outside our venue, so they are always within arm’s reach. Or feel free to bring one from home!

Question

Do I need to get tested?

Answer

Our strong preference for our celebration is that everyone present who is eligible is vaccinated. For non-vaccinated adult guests, a negative Covid test result is required within 48 hours of our wedding. We want to make getting a test convenient and not a barrier! So if you are not able to get your test in advance, we will have a limited number of rapid tests available at the entrance for those who are unvaccinated as well as for anyone who would like the added assurance. They are super convenient, non-invasive, and quick. For those who are able to get tested ahead of our event, please send your test result via text message to a member of the wedding party by Oct. 7.

Question

What additional safety measures will be taken on our wedding day?

Answer

Please be assured that your health and safety are our top priority! Along with adhering to the current guidelines, we have chosen to implement the following additional safety measures at our wedding: We will have multiple sanitizing stations set up around the venue, including upon arrival and in each bathroom. Dinner will be served by catering staff-only, table-by-table to avoid long lines and self-serving. All event staff will be wearing masks. We ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms or have been possibly recently exposed, to please stay home.
