Their story begins in St. Augustine, FL at Flagler College. Michael and Jasmyne were in the same friend group during Jasmyne's freshman year of college. There were about 30+ people in their group chats but Jasmyne only had eyes for Michael. Once she saw him during their Convocation event to kick off the school year, she was a woman on a mission. Now, although Michael will deny, deny, deny, Jasmyne is the one who put the wheels in motion in trying to get to know him. She would tell her roommate and friends to "put a good word in for me" but all efforts failed. Once Halloween came around, Jasmyne’s mother, sister, and grandmother came up to visit her for the weekend and no one knew it at the time, but this would be the first time they meet their future son, brother, and grandson-in-law. After Jasmyne introduced Michael to them and was alone with her family, she told them how special he was and how much she already liked him. This is how their story began. Fast-forward to Jasmyne’s junior year of college and Michael’s senior year, Michael had to move back to Philadelphia and this is when they truly began long-distance. The two would make trips to St. Augustine or Philadelphia to be with one another and although this proved challenging, they made it to the other side and once Jasmyne graduated, she too moved to Philadelphia. Even though Jasmyne always claims it was because there were more job opportunities, Michael was the biggest reason for the move. Jasmyne lived with the Connelly’s for about a year and a half until she stumbled upon their now home during one of the numerous open houses she went to with her future mother-in-law, Suzie. Now this was at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic so no one had any idea what was going to happen next. By some miracle, in March of 2020, they moved into their home. Since moving in, they have adopted their two beloved cats, Fozzy and Chalupa, and began making this place their home.

Jasmyne joined the Connelly family in another one of their extravagant trips to Europe with having been to Ireland and now going to Portugal. After being together for 7 years at that point, Jasmyne had no idea what Michael had been planning months in advance. While waiting for sometime for Michael to return from the “bathroom”, Jasmyne had no idea that Michael was on the phone with her mom asking for her blessing to propose. On the third day of their trip, they went from Lisbon to a beach city called Lagos. They got ready to head into downtown Lagos for dinner but they stopped to marvel over the views of Praia do Camilo. Jasmyne thought nothing of the stop until there came a point where Michael suggested that they look out into the sea while his parents took a picture of them from behind because it was “artsy”. Michael had never said this seriously before so she turned around and there he was on his knee. Being so shocked and caught off guard, it took Jasmyne a minute (or a few!) until she finally said yes! Jasmyne had to navigate the rest of the trip with a ring on her left finger and keeping it safe at all times, as Suzie later admitted she had to do the first three days of the trip. On their last day being back in Lisbon and flying home later that night, Jasmyne had three things on her mind: being able to see her cats again, getting to finally be able to put up their Halloween decorations the next day, and wedding planning! Jasmyne had ordered 5 wedding planners and books before even leaving Portugal with two of them waiting for their arrival by the front door to begin this new journey together.
