A must-do for both locals and out-of-towners. *Parking is notoriously difficult during the Peddler's Fair, so we would recommend parking a few streets over or walking from the hotel/home that you are staying at if you are staying in Benicia.
Activities abound at the Benicia State Recreation Area, which boasts 2.5 miles of bike and road paths wrapping around the Carquinez Strait, offering ample opportunities for walking, biking, hiking, and exploring the rich and rare wildlife that flourishes in the region.
Latte lovers, this one is for you. You can't go wrong with State's famous iced honey lavender latte (and get it with oat milk, trust Jasmine). State's coffee pairs well with their assortment of toasts and pastries, including their yummy vegan donuts. Bonus: Grab your order to go and take it across the street. You can enjoy a picnic on the green outside of the State Capitol Building, or if you venture to the grounds alongside the building, you'll stumble upon a lovely, shaded garden with picnic tables.
Seriously, there will never be enough good things to say about this place. One House has some of the best food in town, and it has the long lines to prove it. Jasmine dreams about their vegan raspberry chocolate tarts!
Lucca's Bar and Grill is a staple in the Feingold-Weis household and they have yet to be disappointed with the food! If you plan on going, you should consider ordering the crispy Brussel sprouts and one of their mouthwatering burgers (also available Impossible-style). For a more low-key vibe, you can also check out their outdoor Beer Garden, which offers a laidback menu and live music.
For a more upscale dining experience, the Italian cuisine at Bella Siena is sure to delight. The waterfront views don't hurt, either.
