It all began in Chelan, WA, when Jasmine was working at Mellisoni Vineyards and Sam came in to help with an event. After working together, they planned a hike just a few days later. On May 3, 2018, they went on their first hike to Elephant Head on Chelan Butte—and from that day on, they’ve been inseparable. Sam originally thought his time in Chelan would be short—just a stop along the way as he began his journey toward becoming a firefighter, with plans to eventually move to San Diego. But life had other plans, and what was meant to be temporary quickly turned into something much more permanent.
Every year, we visit Sun Mountain in Winthrop, Washington—a place that feels like a perfect escape, close enough to reach but far enough to truly disconnect. It’s where we slow down, hike or cross-country ski, and enjoy time away from the busy pace of life. On one of those trips, Sam proposed, turning a favorite tradition into an unforgettable moment. And yes, in true Belsky fashion, the proposal came with just a hint of chaos—he had Tanner (Jasmine’s brother) drive the ring up from Chelan and only had it in his possession for about 10 minutes before actually proposing.
