One of our favorite local trails is the Trail of Ten Falls Loop. About an hour south of Portland, as the name suggests you'll see plenty of waterfalls on this easy but long hike. The trail even takes you behind the big waterfall. NOTE: be sure to check trail conditions first as it can get icy in the colder months.
Portland is known for its "donut wars" and this shop is our absolute favorite. Hot, made-to-order donuts and specialty chais are just the thing on a chilly, November day. Try Patrick's favorite (and Pip's signature donut), the Reggie Lee/Dirty Wu, and Jasmine's favorite, the Raw Honey & Sea Salt.
Check out Patrick and Jasmine's little town. See part of the Lake at Millennium Park and the river at George Rogers and Foothills parks. Stroll around and grab some food and treats at Saint Honore, Salt & Straw, Dullahan Pub, Tillamook, and more. Catch a movie at the old Lake Theater & Cafe. If you want super fancy groceries for some reason, or just a nice hot bar, check out our favorite grocery store experience: Zupan's.
Certified authentic by our resident New Yorker, Patrick. This is one of our favorite date night spots with fantastic by-the-slice pizza. It's also in a fun Portland neighborhood that's great for strolling and chatting. Note that it is also near another Salt & Straw location.
This park/walking trail is near and dear to us as it is where Patrick proposed. We've done many walks and picnics here, as well as our engagement photos, and it's beautiful in all seasons. Take a walk down a country lane and see if you can find the small meadow where we got engaged!
