FAQs

Question

Do guests have to dress in formal roaring 20s clothing to attend the wedding and reception?

Answer

It’s certainly not a requirement but Marcus and Jasmine want a roaring 20s themed wedding and reception. This is why the venue, The Bank, was chosen. The Bank is an imaginative restoration of soaring ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors and a complete 1920s inspired area to celebrate in Gatsby-seque fashion. There will be extra accessories available for you to use and keep if you need them.

Question

What does roaring 20s formal wear look like?

Answer

A great place to answer that question is www.vintage dancer.com and click on 1920s. It gives the perfect explanation of what to wear. Another useful site is Amazon.com and www.unique vintage.com. You cannot be too fancy! The 1920s went all-out evening entertainment with opulence, decadence and glamour! The dresses were magnificent with fabulous fabric and fringe. Dropped waist and loose-fitting straight cut that is perfect for dancing! Accessories include strings of twisted pearls, bracelets, elbow length gloves, and feather headbands. Men’s standard clothing consisted of top hat, fedoras, tailcoat, pinstriped suits, suspenders, bow ties, black patent leather shoes and spat’s! So come dressed in the 20s and have a marvelous time! We will be taking plenty of pictures!

Question

I saw there are only non-alcoholic beverages available. Will there be any alcoholic drinks?

Answer

Shhhhh….. it’s the 1920s and it’s the beginning of Prohibition! So keep in mind the Volstead Act was passed earlier this year, ( January 20, 1920), which banned the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquors. We will not have a liquor license on premises. According to Marcus and Jasmine’s wishes, we are asking all guests to refrain from alcohol for the duration of the wedding and reception.
