We are so excited to celebrate our special day with everyone. We met our intern year of residency. Luke was the overnight admitting intern and Jasmine was the day intern. For nearly a month straight they met in the early hours of the morning and late in the evening to sign out events for their shared patients. Needless to say they had some tough weeks in the early days as interns. On the last day of the rotation Jasmine bought Luke a huge sprinkle sugar cookie to celebrate (he promptly finished the entire thing in a blink of an eye). Riding that sugar cookie high, Luke asked Jasmine to brunch on their one shared day off that week. The Bronx brunch turned into a Manhattan afternoon excursion exploring the Highline, making Luke try chamoyada for the first time, and ending with a ramen dinner. Many many more New York restaurants, a pandemic, a critical care fellowship, and 2 kitty cats later, Luke proposed on the shores of Hoi An during a family trip to Vietnam. …and of course Jasmine said yes!
