Guests will be seated on the floor during the Sikh ceremony, in keeping with tradition. Heads will need to be covered at all times and shoes will need to be removed while in the ceremony hall. Men: Suits or traditional attire such as a kurta pajama are welcome. Women: Traditional Indian attire like salwaar kameez, anarkali, or sharara is common. Dresses are also fine, as long as they are modest.
Many Indian outfits are made in and shipped from India, so delivery can take 6–10 weeks. Ready-made options may arrive sooner but often require tailoring, which can take an additional 1–2 weeks.
