We met in seventh grade at Westlawn Middle School when I joined late into the school year and Devancy was one of the first few friends I made. We were good friends during middle school, but we ended up going to different high schools in separate cities after graduating from Westlawn and lost touch with each other sometime after.

It wasn't until Devancy slid into my Instagram DMs, 6 years after losing contact with one another, wanting to catch up, and it just clicked. Wanting to catch up turned into messaging everyday, to phone calls, to video calls, to eventually reuniting in person. (I was eventually informed by him that he had a crush on me in middle school that I was never aware about). Eventually, in contrast to middle school, he asked me to be his girlfriend and we began dating in November.

It was supposed to be just a nice family dinner for both our families to formally meet and get to know each other but it ended with a proposal! When dinner was over and dessert was brought out to the table, I looked over and he was down on one knee. I was stunned, questioning if this was actually happening, but he popped the question and I said "YEAH," (like, duh), and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in AL!
