Chandler moved to the black hills to work for his aunt and uncle in the summer of 2022. Jasmine was working at Maurice’s where she worked with her new friend Allie (who is also Chandlers cousin). Allie invited them to a Sasquatch baseball game. Allie’s fiancé Ryan played for the Sasquatch for years and she wanted some company for the games. The first game was fun and every game after became more and more fun. Chandler had to leave at the end of the summer so the couple kept in touch as friends until Chandler would permanently move to the hills for “work” the following year. Not long after they started dating.

To celebrate our one year anniversary we booked a camping trip to Custer State Park. While on the camping trip we decided to go for a hike around Sylvan Lake. The weather was gorgeous that morning so we went for it and eventually we stepped off the path to catch our breath and take in the scenery, when Chandler got down on one knee and gave Jasmine his grandmothers ring. We took lots of goofy photos and noticed that the clouds were rolling in so we started running down the hill back towards the car. We made it just in time for the storm to start and we drove to a gas station to take cover from the hail. We sat in the car and called our loved ones to tell them the news and we talked about our future together as we waited for the storm to pass.
