To our family and friends, It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel our wedding celebration due to Covid-19. We are sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience. Our love story will be told, just in a different way than we all had imagined. We will be holding an intimate ceremony on September 19th with immediate family and plan to share some moments with you from that day here on our website. Please check back later for updates. With love, Jasmin & Steven
Steven and I both met while pledging for the same co-ed fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi. Little did we know that the strong friendship we developed over that time would turn into so much more the following year. On July 15th, 2012 Steven asked me to be his girlfriend, and from that point on our endless adventures began.
Exactly one month prior we scored permits to hike and camp at Havasupai. A beautiful Native American Reservation where it takes 10 miles just to get to your campsite. Steven and I had visited this gorgeous place once before so we were really excited to be going back again. Our closest friends joined us on our grand adventure. After about 5 hours of backpacking we reached our camp and set up. I was really eager to hike to one of the waterfalls that same day, about another 2 mile hike down a VERY steep terrain. I knew that some might want to just relax at camp and was very surprised to hear that everyone else wanted to go as I knew how exhausted everyone was. Little did I know that the entire group knew something I didn't. I had NO idea the ENTIRE time that Steven was planning on purposing on this trip. From the month of planning, to the night we all met up, or the entire hiking trip. No one slipped or said a word to me. During the hike I remember stopping to take a picture at the top before we made our decent. Steven was being very adamant that he wanted to keep going and take pictures later. I thought this was a little weird as he's usually the one to take things slow and take in our surroundings. Come to find out he was just really nervous. Once we reached the bottom, I asked someone to take a picture of us. I walked to get closer to the waterfall and as I turned around everyone in our group had their phones out. I thought that was weird and thats when I started to sense something was up. Steven was acting a bit strange. He pointed to his brother to distract me and when I turned back around he went down on one knee and took out a beautiful red box. In that moment he slipped, almost fell and dropped the ring but luckily saved it. He immediately asked "Will you marry me" and I immediately leaned in for a kiss and said of course. Everything about it was perfect in my eyes and I couldn't have asked for a more memorable trip to mark this new journey in our lives.
