What is the currency in Dubai?

Currency The official currency of the United Arab Emirates is the AED Dirham, which is divided into 100 fills, and is pegged to the USD - 1 USD = 3.67 AED Dirham. You can pay everything with card.

What plugs can I use in Dubai?

Electric plugs in the UAE are the “Type G” British BS-1363 type. The plug has two flat metal pins that run horizontally in a straight line and a third flat grounding pin oriented horizontally above the others. So everyone, except for our guests from the UK should bring a converter.

Anything else to be aware of when coming to Dubai?

Answer

Clothing: Generally speaking, you are free to wear what you want in Dubai as long as it is not bordering on indecent exposure. Only No-Gos are offensive graphics or slogans on T-Shirts and nudity (i.e. no topless sunbathing). Alcohol: Alcohol is typically served in licensed venues such as hotels, bars, clubs, and restaurants, or you can buy alcohol in licensed stores with your passport. It is NOT allowed to drink in public (i.e. on the public beach, when walking around). Pictures: Snap a photo in public is generally allowed in Dubai, but you need to be extremely cautious while doing so. Avoid photographing individuals (particularly locals) without their consent if they are in private or intimate situations, and don't take pictures of Government Buildings and their Security structures.

TAXI Most economic way to get around. You will find them at the airport, on most roads in busy areas on the street, in front of malls and hotels, or you can book via 80088088 or search for "DTC" Dubai Taxi Corporation App. Daytime Base Fare - AED 5, Daytime Per KM Rate - AED 2.14 - so your average trip will cost you around 50 - 60 AED (12-15 EUR) or around 120 AED to/from the airport. UBER/CAREEM Most convenient - you can book easily via the UBER or Careem App. Airport trip will be ~180 AED (~45 EUR), trips around the city will be around 80 AED (20 EUR).
