When should I rsvp by?

We ask that you please rsvp by May 25th, 2025.

What colors should avoid wearing?

Answer

To ensure a cohesive look, we ask that guests refrain from wearing white and dusty blue as that is what the bride and bridesmaids will be wearing.

What is the attire?

Answer

We are going for a standard cocktail attire. Dresses for the ladies and preferably suits for the men. We ask that you please do not wear jeans or sneakers. Tradition Indian clothing is also welcomed!

Are there other events?

Answer

Yes!!! We will be having a traditional Mehndi event. It will take place on Wednesday, June 25. More details to follow.

What is Mehndi?

Answer

Mehndi is a form of temporary body art, popular at South Asian weddings, where intricate henna patterns are applied to the body. The henna tattoo will last 1 to 3 weeks. All guests are welcomes to receive henna. If you are interested, please wear an outfit with short sleeves so your hands and arm are exposed. A traditional lehenga or saree isn't required—but if you want to wear one, go for it!

Who's included in my invitation?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate plus-ones unless specifically noted on your invitation. We have included everyone's name in your party on the rsvp to make it quick and easy!

Food and drink

Answer

We are having an Italian buffet for our main course. There will be vegetarian options for our main dish as well as our cocktail hour. If you have any dietary concerns, please contact the bride/groom.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes before the ceremony starts to allow time for seating.

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

Yes! We have reserved a block of rooms at the Fredericksburg Hampton Inn and Suits. Please visit the "travel" tab to book your room. The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute drive to our wedding venue.

What is the best airport for out of state guests?

Answer

While Fredericksburg is a bit of a drive from the airport, we find the easiest and least busy airport is the Richmond airport. It is about an hour south of Fredericksburg but easily avoids all DC traffic!

Where should I park at the ceremony?

Answer

Onsite parking is available, and our team will be there to assist and guide you upon arrival. There will be a bar at the wedding so be mindful of this before driving. There are many Uber or ride share options in our area as well.

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Answer

Our registry gives you the option of buying and directly sending gifts to our address. If you decide to bring something outside of our registry, we will have a gift table at our reception location.

Are the ceremony and reception sites close by to each other?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will take place in front of the dock. Following the ceremony, the cocktail hour and reception is just a few feet away in our massive tent space. If you are curious about what the space will look like, feel free to visit the Arbor Haven website for photos of our venue.

Are there any cultural traditions guests should be aware of?

Answer

Yes! We will be having two officiants. Our Lutheran pastor and Jasleen's cousin preforming the Sikh blessings. To respect Sikh customs, we kindly ask all guests to wear head coverings during the Sikh portion of the ceremony—these will be passed out at while seating for your convenience.
