It all started with a hand getting stuck in an elevator door—David’s hand, to be exact. Renee happened to be there to witness the whole thing, and instead of offering help, she just laughed. And that was the first time David noticed her. Fast forward a year. God had plans for them to cross paths again—this time, working on the same project. They spent a lot of time together, bouncing ideas around, dealing with deadlines, and somewhere in between, David started seeing Renee as more than just a coworker. She was sharp, hilarious, and had an energy that made even the most boring meetings bearable. Renee realized she left every conversation with David with a smile on her face. Then came the bread. Renee had recently become very invested in bread-making thanks to her older sister. David, on the other hand, had never even thought to attempt it. But he saw an opportunity—learning to bake bread *also* meant getting Renee’s number. So, he asked her to teach him, completely messing up the first few attempts in the process. But hey, it worked—he got her number. David liked Renee. David also liked Renee's dog. A lot. So he asked her out. But not on a *real* date—at least, that’s what he told himself (she thought it was a date...). Just a casual walk on the Katy Trail, stopping at a bakery to chat. But that gave him all the confirmation he needed for the actual first date: dinner at Las Palmas, Renee’s favorite restaurant. The next many months were filled with new experiences—cooking, traveling, sharing faith, picnicking, reading, laughing over dumb jokes, talking about their passions and values, supporting each other through the tough days. Over time, David knew—this was it. He wanted to spend forever with Renee. With the help of Renee’s cousin, Sarah, and two of their best friends, Liz and Hayden, he put together a proposal plan. It was perfect. And thankfully, Renee said yes! They celebrated, ate amazing food, called their friends and family, and soaked in the moment with their favorite people. Now, they’re in the engagement phase. Renee is deep into wedding planning, and David? He’s coasting—his main job is done: locking in the best decision he’s ever made. Soon enough, “fiancé” and “fiancée” will be a thing of the past, and they’ll be on to the next great adventure—marriage!!
