Jarrett's uncle was assigned to my church in 2010. I however, was living in NC, so I did not meet the family until later on. When Jarrett and I met, we were just friends and had no thoughts of being a "couple". We barely spoke at first. I remember one Sunday sitting beside him on the choir and thought, he smells like cocoa butter, yum! Fast forward, Jarrett and I had this long almost two hour conversation and in that, I told him we should go on a date. He should go get my favorite flower, ring my doorbell, open the car door for me and take me to Chipotle (I didn't know that was his favorite restaurant). He didn't take me seriously, so I started dating someone else for two years. That relationship clearly ended. During the passing of Jarrett's uncle, we became instantly closer. It was weird. However, it led to us getting married.
One of Jarrett's family members asked him was I his girlfriend. I responded by saying "for two weeks." I have no clue where that came from. However, Jarrett and I decided that we would try dating for two weeks, but we would not hug or kiss just in case it didn't work we didn't want to mess up our friendship. Day ten, Jarrett tells me that he didn't want two weeks. I snapped (if you know me, you know I go from 0 to 60 in .2 seconds). I said what do you mean you don't want two weeks? Oh ok that is cool, forget you! He said "hush and listen, I mean that two weeks is not long enough." I said "well how long do you want?" He said "forever!" Now we are here and we are both getting our forever.
