Although we grew up in the same town just on opposite sides of the "highway", we met for the first time in 1999 at Ashland Middle School. Jarrett played basketball and I was a cheerleader. Yes, I can hear her now “Jarrett he’s the man, he’s number 4 and yes he can dun dadun dun... do it! Star point guard... what did you expect? Yeah that didn’t happen in real life . At the time I didn’t pay Jarrett too much attention even though he clearly had eyes for me, but that would all change in the years to come. I’ll admit I did have a crush on Lygea Brown since I stepped foot inside Ashland Middle School but never made my move... little did I know, she had eyes for me too... the grand finale of middle school, the 8th grade formal, she had her date and I had mine, but before the night was over I remember telling her she should have been my date and that smile still shines bright in my mind today. Fast Forward to the summer of 2012, I was working with my mom on our first entrepreneur adventure a Soul Food Restaurant (Girlfriend’s), Jarrett would come in all the time for a mixed fruit drink or a fish hoagie but really he was just coming in to see me. This went on for a few months. One night I was out and had one too many fish bowls and was checking my DM’S on twitter and decided to text Jarrett! Unbeknownst to me it was his 25th Birthday, and I made his night! October 30th will soon become an even more special day for us! Yes, once we finally reunited at “Girlfriend’s”, and I was reminded of that smile that stuck with me for all those years... she captivated me once again! Fish hoagies almost every day that summer! I couldn’t get enough of... Lygea Brown. So we dated, fell in love, traveled, moved in together, welcomed a beautiful baby girl, and became a family of four all within a year - yup you read that right! A Perfect Love Story

Jarrett’s 30th Birthday is approaching and of course he’s indecisive of what he wants to do! So he finally decides on a dinner and leaves the planning up to me. I reach out to Aaron (Best Man) and have him text the fellas that we’re going to have a “surprise” dinner for Jarrett at Del Frisco’s. Little did I know the surprise was on me, Jarrett was giving his birthday speech and all I could think was, it’s his birthday, why does he keep talking about me? Next thing I know he got down on one knee and popped the question! “Lygea will you marry me?” Of course I said YES!
