What is there to do in Florence?

Answer

Check out the famous Duomo, walk the Ponte Vecchio, stroll through the Boboli Gardens, visit the Uffizi and Accademia galleries, or take in a breathtaking view of the city at Piazzale Michelangelo. When in doubt, people-watch in one of the piazzas with a bottle of vino - our go to is Chianti Classico. What is there to do in Chianti?

Answer

Venture out of the city and into the relaxing Italian countryside. Known for its stunning views and vineyards, Chianti is the place to relax by the pool, enjoy a wine tasting or explore the charming towns of Greve, Panzano, Siena and SanGimignano. Any activities and necessary transportation must be arranged in advance. Reminder, there are no Ubers in Chianti and limited taxis. See Transportation page for a recommended service within Chianti. Where are the wedding events?

Answer

Our Welcome Spritz will be held in the city of Florence on Thursday, 7/11. All other wedding events will be held in the countryside of Chianti on Friday, 7/12 - Sunday, 7/14.

When should I plan to arrive?

Answer

Anytime! If you'll be there by Thursday, 7/11, join us for our Welcome Spritz in Florence. If not, make your way to Chianti by Friday, 7/12 for our wedding festivities.

What is there to eat in Florence?

Answer

LOL! You can't go wrong—but here are some of our faves: Panini Toscani, Trattoria 13 Gobbi, Osteria delle Tre Panche, Fuor D'Acqua, Cantinetta delle Terme, La Prosciutteria, Neromo, Gelateria Carraia, Ditta Artigianale Coffee Bar. If you're feeling adventurous try local Florentine street foods such as Trippa and Lampredotto.

How do I travel between Florence and Chianti?

Answer

Please arrange your own transportation to Chianti via taxi or car service (~40 minute drive from Florence City Center). See Transportation page for contact to book and be sure to inquire about roundtrip service for the way home. Reminder, there are no Ubers in Chianti and all taxis must be booked in advance. Once in Chianti, transportation will be provided from the recommended accommodations to/from all wedding events.

What should I wear to each event?

Answer

You do you! But here are some event details if you need a visual: WELCOME SPRITZ (Thursday, 7/11): - Attire: Night Out - Setting: Lounge-style, outside along the Arno River. Think chic after hours. REHEARSAL DINNER PIZZA PARTY (Friday, 7/12): - Attire: Vineyard Chic - Setting: Patio and grass overlooking the vineyard in the Italian countryside. Think low-key cocktail attire. OUR WEDDING (Saturday, 7/13) - Attire: Formal - Setting: Patio and grass overlooking the vineyard in the Italian countryside. Think midi dresses, gowns, jumpsuits, suits and ties. POOLSIDE FAREWELL (Sunday, 7/14) - Attire: Lounge - Setting: By the pool. Think bathing suits, sundresses, comfortable, and casual.

Can I get my hair or makeup done in Florence or Chianti?

Question

When should I plan to head home?

Answer

Plan to check out of your Chianti hotel on Sunday, 7/14 or Monday, 7/15 (depending on minimum stay). Please arrange your own transportation back to Florence City Center or the airport after your stay. Remember, if you are flying home directly from Chianti, you will be about 40 minutes away from Florence City Center. Allow enough time before your flight and arrange transportation in advance.

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids, but our wedding events will be for the grownups. If you’re traveling with your children, please coordinate childcare. If you need any help, let us know!

What if my plans change after I RSVP?

Answer

No problem. We completely understand that plans can change, but the accommodations for the weekend have been thoughtfully reserved for our wedding guests. Because of that, we have asked that you RSVP early to help us finalize all the details. Should your plans change please just let us know so we can adjust details for the weekend accordingly.

Is there a new European Visa Requirement?

Answer

The ETIAS visa requirement has been pushed out to mid 2025 so you do not need to worry about this!

How do I know if I need to renew my passport?

Answer

For Italy travel, your passport cannot expire within 6 months of departure date.
