Question

Will this be an adult only event?

Answer

Yes. Due to strict restrictions and limitations of the venue, this will be an adult-only wedding and reception. Let your hair loose and enjoy a date night on us! If you need help finding child care, please let us know. We are happy to help.

Question

Will Jarrad or Krista change their last name?

Answer

No. Jarrad and Krista will each be keeping their own perspective last names. Please address them as Mrs. & Mr. Krista Nelsen & Jarrad Hovland, The Newlyweds, or The Happy Couple, etc.

Dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal. We encourage you to wear fall colors! This could be reds, yellows, oranges, blacks, browns, tans, purples, and greens.

Are plus ones and children allowed?

Answer

We'd like to keep the guest list just to those closes to us and due to limitations of the venue, we will not be able to accommodate additional plus-ones to our wedding. The name of every guest invited to attend will be listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated. We love your children and unfortunately due to strict restrictions at the venue, we cannot accommodate guests under age 18. If you need assistance finding childcare, please let us know, we are happy to help.

Will all events be held in the same location?

Answer

Yes. There will be signage directing you where you need to go and when. Please follow parking signs and then the signs to walk up the hill to the ceremony site. *Please note that it is a 7 minute walk from parking to the ceremony site.*

Meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

Yes. In your RSVP, there will be a space to note any special dietary needs. Please let us know there and will make sure you are accommodated!

Blocks of Rooms at Hotels?

Shuttle to and from the hotels?

Answer

Yes. We do plan to have a shuttle to run at various times to and from our venue. Please keep an eye out for a time schedule.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. If you need assistance to get up the hill to our ceremony site, please let us know in your RSVP and we will make sure you are accommodated.

Parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes. There is plenty of parking available on site. *Please note that it is a 7 minute walk from parking to the ceremony site.* There will be signage directing you where to park and where to walk to get to the ceremony site.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our afternoon ceremony will be outdoors on the hill overlooking Caribou Bay, while cocktail hour and the reception will take place indoors with some outside activities available. Guests will walk to the ceremony site on paved pathways, but will need to walk up a hill (with some stairs) step on grass briefly to take their seats. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended. *Please note that it is a 7 minute walk from parking to the ceremony site.*

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar with specialty cocktails, beer, and wine for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception. However, we do recommend bringing cash for tips.

Weather and climate in the area?

Answer

Weather in Wisconsin can be unpredictable, especially in October. We encourage you to come prepared and check the weather ahead of time. Fall time in Wisconsin can be cooler and rainy. The average high temperature is usually around mid 50s and the average low temperature is usually around low 40s. However, the last few years October days in Wisconsin have been warmer and could be almost as high as 80, but can also get below freezing, especially at night. Please pack accordingly.

Am I allowed to take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep our ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos during our ceremony. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. We've also hired great professionals to capture our special day and don't want to get in the way of their work. We look forward to sharing our photos and videos with you!
