This is where we got engaged! The trail is a favorite running spot with 10 miles of gravel trail stretching from Austin High School all the way to Longhorn Dam. You can enjoy running, walking, and lots of people watching among the beautiful downtown Austin scenery.
We love spending time outside in Austin and Zilker park is a great place to do that! On one side you have Barton Springs, on the other side you have Lady Bird Lake, and in the middle, a huge grassy field that is great for picnics!
If you’re in the mood to do something active, Crux is one of our favorite rock climbing gyms! It’s right off of South Congress and has great climbing for all skill levels. Some of our favorite music is always playing although sometimes you can listen to the sound of other climbers playing piano! A true Austin experience.
This is a great hiking spot in Austin’s Westlake Hills area! There are trails, waterfalls, and even swimming spots in the warmer months.
The South Congress neighborhood is full of boutiques, hotels, and restaurants ranging from higher-end to completely casual. Here everything is sure to fully represent Austin’s passion for all things local and funky.
Visit our state's capitol! Take a tour or venture out on your own. The beautiful grounds are great for picnics as well.
The Bob Bullock Museum is located in downtown Austin and is a great pastime especially if it's a little chilly outside in February. The Texas history displays and IMAX theater are always fun!
Rainey Street is our favorite Austin destination for drinks and nightlife! Some of our favorite places here include Banger’s (a great, family-friendly restaurant & beer garden with hundreds of beers on tap) and Icenhauer's (they have a fantastic cucumber cocktail called 'The Jennifer' that is always a crowd pleaser). You really can’t go wrong with any of the bars here!
Enjoy some delicious Deep Eddy vodka drinks in the Texas hill country! We love coming here on beautiful days and enjoying the scenery with some delicious drinks.
Lazarus is a fun indoor/outdoor brewery local to Austin. In addition to their beer selection, Lazarus has some great tacos!
Visit the original Chuy's location here on Barton Springs Blvd. Chuy's is one of our favorite restaurants and is always our go-to, so it is safe to say we highly recommend it!
A short drive outside Austin, you'll find the Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas. The atmosphere is always a blast, the barbecue is good, and you can bring your own drinks as it is a dry county!
Across the street from the South Congress Hotel, you can find one of our favorite places for local Austin Tex-Mex. While this is our traditional breakfast stop after a big race, it’s delicious on any other occasion too! In the afternoons there are typically live band performances open to the public in Guero’s outdoor taco garden. It’s always a good time!
Amy's is an Austin classic and the funkiest ice cream shop out there. Their eclectic ice cream selection changes daily and includes everything from vanilla to Hannah's favorite, Shiner Beer. There is a location on South Congress near our reception venue but there are many locations around Austin!
