We met at a Connect Group where JJ was a lead. From there we slowly began a friendship and many around us instigated for us to develop something more, but we shut it down for a long time (especially Mari, haha)! After a bit of a journey and becoming best friends, we both agreed that this was something special and gave in to taking it a step further. We made it official on March 7th, 2018 and have been inseparable ever since!

I originally planned a trip for us to go down to LA for Disneyland and some much needed downtime with family, but little did I know what was about to happen that very weekend! JJ had planned it all out to a tee behind the scenes, and the execution couldn't have been more perfect! We arrived at Disneyland and went straight to the castle to get photos before the crowds, and just after a few group photos with family and friends, the Disneyland photographer suggested that we take some couples photos too. JJ and I went first, and as he began to tell me he loved me, I interrupted him and said, "I know babe, but we are taking photos right now!" (haha) He then got down on one knee and that's when I realized what was really happening! The cherry on top was seeing many of our family and friends (even some that surprised me and went to LA just for that day) surrounding us in that moment with overflowing love and happiness. The rest of the day was just an absolute dream!

On a Monday in July 2019 we decided we would go ahead to the courthouse at the beautiful San Francisco City Hall and get legally married. At first some were confused by this but with the loving support of our families we decided it really was the best option for us. Little did we know the pandemic was around the corner and with so many changes that came later on, we are extremely grateful that we listened to our hearts and got legally married early on and didn't wait for the actual wedding date. By the time we have our wedding celebration this year we will have been married almost two years! Needless to say, we are so excited to finally get to celebrate our union with you guys!!
