The road to Hana is a must if you have not already! Be prepared it is an all day excursion since you will want to stop and see all the beautiful things along the way! Waterfalls, rainbow eucalyptus trees, black sand beach, the worlds best banana bread, and so much more. The road is very narrow and has over 600 hairpin curves. And as always respect the locals and move out of their way!
Dormant volcano that sits 10,000ft above sea level. Best time to go is for sunrise or sunset. Keep in mind it will be freezing up there. We recommend bringing winter clothes if this is something you want to do! The drive up from Kihei is about an hour!
If you enjoy snorkeling this is one of the best places we have snorkeled! Check the water conditions before heading over there. We recommend going before noon as the tide picks up around then. Mala Ocean tavern in right down the road and has great food!
One of our favorite restaurants! we recommend placing a reservation if you want to go for dinner! They have an amazing mai tai and jalapeño mashed potatoes!
Best place to go for local art & souvenirs. There are a couple different swap meets throughout Maui. This one takes place every Sunday. Then there is one in Kihei that is every Wednesday. And another one in Kaanapali every Saturday.
Cute small town on the way to the road to Hana. Fun place to stop and grab a bite to eat and head up to Ho'okipa Beach Park where you will see hundreds of turtles beached and people surfing.
We have not booked through this company as there are a bunch of different whale watching tours in the area. This is one that comes highly recommended and is definitely something that should be on your list! The main reason we chose to have our wedding here in February is because the whales are here with us! You will also be able to see them breaching from almost any beach but getting up close and personal is amazing!
