Jarer and Ebony’s story began in the summer of 2016. Jarer, an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan, had practically built his identity around their championship run, while Ebony — a true fashionista — spent her time exploring creativity, traveling to Japan each year, and perfecting her love for green tea. What started as two very different worlds quickly became one shared journey. So how do you get to nearly a decade together and a lifetime of memories? By growing side by side — navigating the ups and downs of your twenties into your thirties, standing together through the lowest lows, and always dreaming and planning for the highest highs. Fast forward to Christmas 2024, on the other side of the world, at the top of one of East Asia’s tallest towers. Jarer chose the highest place imaginable, early in their trip, to ask the biggest question of his life. With Ebony’s mother, Chieko, present, the moment became unforgettable — and forever. Now, over a year later, we’re here, ready to celebrate our love with the people who mean the most to us. We would also like to honor and give special recognition to those who could not be present but remain forever in our hearts: Sam Hooks (Grand-dad), Fumi Hotado (Grandmother), and Denise Thompson (Mother).
