Willow Glen in San Jose has a cute downtown area with tons shops and restaurants. It's about 15-20 minutes from the hotels.
Downtown Los Gatos is a great place to barhop, shop, and grab food! There are tons of places we love including; The Palms (an old mortuary turned restaurant...spooky!) Teleferic is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. They are known for their paella, it's delish! Rootstock wine bar Los Gatos Cafe is a great, old-school, breakfast spot. There will be a wait, FYI. Loma Brewing Company & Hapas Brewing Company are great spots to grab a craft beer Los Gatos Sodaworks is for you if you are looking for a fun, instaworthy cocktail Oak and Rye- A bit more on the casual side Sidecar Tavern- Another great spot for a pre dinner cocktail Asa- This is a nicer spot for dinner Los Gatos Parkside
I fell in love with this winery instantly! We actually considered it as a venue but max capacity was very limited. They have a small but delicious menu, incredible views of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and games including bocce ball and connect four.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in the area! They have Spanish style tapas and fun cocktails. The food is incredible, if you're into Spanish food :) It's also a beautiful spot, a little on the "fancier" side.
HMB is about a 45-minute drive, but absolutely worth it! HMB is a small city right on the coast so the views are spectacular! See below for our spots in HMB!
We often grab a drink or appetizer and watch the sunset here. With the gorgeous green cliffs in the background and their signature bagpiper, you will actually think you're in Ireland! If you're a golfer, this course is a dream!
The Garden Deli at the San Benito house is a must if you plan on having a picnic at the beach! They make their bread fresh, daily! If you don't want sand in your sandwich ;) you can eat on their patio while listening to live music. I recommend ordering ahead of time online because the line is usually out the door.
Looking for a spot to grab a cold one? Look no further! HMB Brewery is a great spot to sit outside and take in the views. They do have a pretty big menu so its a great spot for lunch or dinner.
Alpine Inn has the best beer garden/outdoor patio hands down! Giant redwoods, cold drinks, great food. What more do you need!? This place does not take reservations and there is usually a wait, but it's worth it and you can grab a drink and snacks on the side of the bar while you wait.
One of our go-to spots if we're craving Greek food. We saw Steph Curry there once! Maybe he'll be there again! :)
Another great option for Greek/Mediterranean food.
Any Silicon Valley fans? They taped a lot of episodes here!
Ramen! Say no more! This place is always packed, so I'd recommend getting in line at 11 as soon as they open!
Take a walk around the beautiful Stanford campus!
Another great shopping center with plenty of spots to eat drink and shop!
A cute but casual taco joint! I recommend the fish tacos and the mucho gusto!
Great spot to sit outside and grab a burger!
In the heart of Palo Alto, Sweet Maple is a great spot for breakfast! There will be a wait but you can grab a coffee next door at Verve or walk down University Ave and feel like a real Stanford student!
Our personal favorite Ramen spot... and they take reservations! I recommend the pork buns and Tonkotsu Ramen.
If you want to explore the Redwoods and take a hike, Muri Woods is gorgeous! About an hour and a half drive from San Jose and you must reserve a parking spot, so plan ahead of time.
Now, this is no Chicago pizza, but we like it!
Great spot for dinner!
One of Bill's favorite spots to grab a beer and a bite! They have a nice patio with TV's and the food is good. It's a casual spot. They serve brunch on the weekends from 10am-3pm
Steins is another great spot with a nice beer garden in the heart of Downtown Mountain View!
Cucina Venti is a gorgeous Italian restaurant with a great outdoor area. It is a little on the pricier side.
If you plan on exploring SF, Baker beach is a great spot to take pictures of the Golden Gate!
Be a tourist and head to Fishermans Wharf for clam chowder, a view of Alcatraz, and Pier 39 where you can watch the Sea Lions fight and play with each other. The Wharf is a bit chaotic, kind of like Navy Pier, so if you're up for the crowds, check it out!
Take a tour of SF on a big red boat!
