Driving to Pelican Inn
By Car: Starting from Southern California - Start on Interstate 5 (I-5) North Drive north from your location toward the San Francisco Bay Area. Merge onto Interstate 580 (I-580) West Near Tracy, take I-580 W toward the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Stay on I-580 W and enjoy the views as you cross the bridge. Join Highway 101 South After the bridge, merge onto US-101 S heading toward San Francisco. Take the Highway 1 Exit in Mill Valley Look for the Stinson Beach/Highway 1 exit and follow the signs. Turn Left at the Arco Gas Station After about 2/3 mile, turn left at the third traffic light (near the gas station) to continue on Highway 1. Follow Highway 1 to Muir Beach Drive along this scenic road for about 15 minutes. The Pelican Inn will be on your left as you descend into Muir Beach. Approximate Driving Time: From Los Angeles: 6.5–7 hours (depending on traffic). Driving Tip: Please note that the roads get very windy leading up to the Pelican Inn. Please take your time and have a designated driver for the evening.

Flying
By Plane + Car: Fly to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). Rent a car and follow the directions above. From SFO: About a 1-hour drive (30 miles). From OAK: About a 50-minute drive (25 miles) SFO Airport: If you are renting a car, you will de-board, grab your bags at baggage claim, and head to the elevators for the airtram. Once you get to the correct level, you will walk across a bridge, and then look for the escalators which will take you up to the airtram. Wait for the airtram that says car rental and it will take you directly to the car rental location. There are also multiple help desks around to guide you.
