Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

YES! Men—suit & tie, sharp and classic. Women—midi or maxi formal cocktail dresses, chic and classy. No jeans, no casual—bring your best party look!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening!

Question

Do I need a passport or visa?

Answer

Yes, all U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to travel to Mexico. A visa is not required for stays under 180 days.

Question

Do people speak English in Monterrey?

Answer

Yes! You’ll find English speakers in most places, but not everywhere. To make things easier, we suggest having a translation tool handy—whether that’s Google Translate or even ChatGPT’s voice feature (ask it to translate out loud in the moment). It’s a fun way to bridge the gap if you need a quick phrase or two.

Question

Do I need an international phone plan?

Answer

Check with your carrier about international options. Many places also have free WiFi (including the hotel), and WhatsApp is the most common way to text or call locally.

Question

How do I pay for things in Mexico?

Answer

Credit cards are widely accepted almost everywhere in Monterrey. Most places do not add extra fees for using a U.S. card. You may still want a little cash (pesos) for small tips, but for the most part, your card will work just fine. We recommend letting your bank or credit card company know you’ll be traveling to Mexico so your card doesn’t get flagged or blocked while you’re here.

Question

Should I tip?

Answer

Yes—tipping is customary in Mexico. About 10–15% at restaurants is standard (sometimes added automatically), and small tips for hotel staff, drivers, or bellhops are appreciated.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We’d love for all our guests to stay at Quinta Real Monterrey so we can all be together. We’ve reserved a block of rooms and will provide a special code to use when booking. Look at our travel tab for more info!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest airport is Monterrey International Airport (MTY), about 30–40 minutes from the hotel. Look at our travel tab for more info!
