How we met

5.11.2017

It was our second day on our study abroad trip, we had just got to London and were at Sir Peter Viggers presentation on English Parliament - really riveting stuff. I was sitting down and Morgan and her group of friends came and sat down next to us, and our groups hung out the rest of the day. Truth be told, our groups pretty much hung out the rest of the trip. We became really good friends throughout the trip and continued that friendship on through the coming summer. At the end of the summer, I asked Morgan to be my girlfriend and the rest is history. Oh - and it happened to be on her birthday, I have a knack for asking really important questions in our relationship on birthdays but that story comes later. I think the best part of our relationship was starting out as friends, even though pretty much the second I met her I knew that one day she would be my wife. The friendship and endless laughs always have and always will be my favorite part of Morgan and I.

The Proposal

06.05.2020

Only Jared Cole could be calmer than usual on the day he proposed. He had set up a photoshoot for my new puppy, Milo, with an old acquaintance of his who happens to be a mildly famous dog photographer. I had originally told him we could just take a few pictures of Milo ourselves, but I'm glad I wasn't too stubborn on this one!! We met on A&M's campus, and the photographer got to work bribing Milo with treats. Jared and I hopped in a few shots, but, at that point, it was still a highly convincing "puppy photoshoot". I had gotten in one last shot with Milo before our time was up when I heard my best friend say, "Hey Morgan". I turned away from the camera and saw Jared looking up at me, down on one knee, and I lost it. There's no way to explain how I felt in that moment other than utterly joyful. Jared then surprised me again by coordinating our families into town. Milo had SPRINTED away right after Jared proposed. I was floating on a cloud, chasing after a stubborn puppy, and distracted enough to not see everyone walking up behind us. Once again - I lost it. It was a perfect day, and I know that same joy will be present throughout our lives together. OH also - this all happened on Jared's birthday, but I have now deemed it an irrelevant holiday. HA.
