Sundays 9AM-2PM at the Geneva Metra Train Stop. Going to the French Market in Downtown Wheaton (Melanie's hometown) with her mom on Sundays is one of Melanie's favorite memories of growing up. This French market is only half a mile from our wedding venue, if you'd like to return to downtown Geneva the morning after the party to drink coffee and shop some local produce or local artists etc.!
There's a trail next to the Fox River that is both walkable and bikeable. Rent a bike at Mill Race Cyclery in Geneva (11 E State St.) if you'd like to ride the trail a bit. In warmer months, they also rent kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards so you can feel like you're living that Austin life up in Illinois.
A great one for families with kids, and park lovers! This is a pretty park on an island in the middle of Fox River that you have to get to by walking across a bridge to get to. If your kid isn't impressed by the bridge, then there's a playground at the park to psych them up. But as experts on children, we know they will love this bridge/park/playground combo.
One of the town's breweries/pubs, for our craft beer drinkers. Additional perk: it appears to be across the street from Wheeler Park, which boasts its own disc golf course. So pack your discs, grab some brewskis, and frolf away, brah.
This pub and grill is *literally* right next to our venue. We have never been there but their Facebook makes a lot of dam puns and they have held several "meat raffle" events this past year. If you think we will not be showing up here some time over the course of the weekend (perhaps immediately following the reception), you are mistaken.
