We met through a school club while attending CSUF (Go Titans!). Jared was about a month away from graduating and was on the executive board planning the end of year activities. Macie was just joining as an executive board member in the upcoming school year and was shadowing the current board at the last industry mixer of the year. Macie saw Jared a few times at previous events and thought he was so cute, but would NEVER make the first move. At the mixer, Macie was chatting with some friends and then Jared made his way over and they hit it off so well! They talked the whole night and once the event was over Jared walked Macie to her car, asked for her number and the rest is history!
Jared told Macie that his boss had a pre-paid 5 course dinner reservation that he could no longer attend in LA and that he had offered it to them. Jared showed Macie the restaurant’s website and Instagram and she was so excited to try it out. A few days before the reservation, Jared mentioned that Cal State Fullerton was having a monarch butterfly festival in the arboretum and asked Macie if they wanted to stop there to check it out before they headed to LA and she of course loved that idea. When the day arrived they had a late start and were just hanging out at home. Macie started to get ready around 1pm taking her sweet time. Little did she know that her and Jared’s family were at the arboretum sweating in the hot sun waiting for them. Jared didn’t want to rush Macie to give anything away. Eventually, she finished getting ready and Jared drove so fast to get to the arboretum (2 hours later than scheduled). Once they arrived, they made their way over to the pond and Jared got down on one knee and popped the question. The greatest surprise was seeing their families there and celebrating this special time with all of them! Macie is still waiting to go to the restaurant!
Macie and Jared love all things Fall so an October wedding was an absolute must! The couple loves all the festivities that come with the season especially Halloween. Every year since their 1 year anniversary in 2018 they have gone apple picking at Riley’s Farm in Oak Glen, CA. They didn’t even miss in 2020! The first year this tradition began, they made a trip out of it where they started at Oak Glen and ended by getting a cabin in Big Bear, hence the significance of holding their wedding in a place that symbolizes so much of their love. Fun fact: their engagement pictures were taken on the ultimate Fall bucket list trip where they explored Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. They even spent Halloween in Salem!
