FAQs

The Wedding Website of Krista Lewis and Jared Mendes
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress in cocktail attire. Bold and bright colors are encouraged, but not required! Please note that both our ceremony and reception will take place entirely outdoors, so plan for warm summer weather.

Question

What are your wedding colors?

Answer

Our wedding colors are inspired by a sunset palette—pinks, oranges, and yellows. Our bridesmaids will be wearing shades of pink. The groom and groomsmen will be wearing tan suits.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We wish we could celebrate with everyone, but we’re keeping our guest list intimate. If your invitation includes a plus one, it will be listed there. Thank you for understanding and celebrating this special day with us!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we’ve decided to keep our celebration an adults-only event. We hope you’re able to enjoy a fun night out with us!

Question

Should I bring anything?

Answer

Your presence is the best gift! If you’d like to bring a card, there will be a card box on the welcome table. For those who wish to give a gift, please visit our registry page. Otherwise, just bring yourself and get ready to celebrate.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

For hotel recommendations and travel details, please visit the Travel tab on our website.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

We highly recommend taking an Uber or rideshare, as street parking in La Jolla is very limited and many spots have time restrictions. If you choose to drive, there are several paid parking garages within walking distance. We suggest reserving in advance if possible: ACE Parking – 1200 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037 Reserve here: https://space.aceparking.com/site/reserve/5ef059938ba799aaa845e1c2e8a762bd LAZ Parking – 1250 Prospect St, La Jolla, CA 92037 Reserve here: https://www.lazparking.com/local/la-jolla-ca/la-jolla-valet LAZ Parking – 1111 Prospect Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037 Reserve here: https://www.lazparking.com/local/la-jolla-ca/hotel-parisi Please allow a minimum of 30 extra minutes for parking and walking to the venue.

Question

How do I get to the rooftop?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will take place on the rooftop (Level 5). If you’re staying at the La Jolla Cove Hotel, you can take the hotel elevator closest to your room directly up to the rooftop. If you’re arriving by Uber or from parking, take the steps to the left of Parakeet Café and walk past the café and lobby area. You’ll find the elevator there — simply take it up to Level 5! We recommend arriving by 3:30 PM to give yourself time to make your way up before the ceremony begins at 4:00 PM.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony starts at 4:00 PM sharp! We suggest arriving by 3:30 so you have time to head up to the rooftop and grab a seat without feeling rushed. There will likely be a line for the elevator and it moves a bit slowly, so giving yourself that extra time is important.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Of course! We’re happy for guests to take photos and capture memories. We simply ask that you remain mindful of our professional photographer and avoid stepping into the aisle or blocking key moments.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We’ll have an open bar flowing all evening. Celebrate with us and plan on using Uber or rideshare so you can fully enjoy the night. Please note that all guests ordering alcohol will need to present a valid ID for bar service.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Our dinner will be served buffet-style, offering a variety of dishes including a vegetarian option. Although we can’t accommodate individual meal requests, we’ve thoughtfully selected items to meet a range of dietary needs. If you have a significant allergy or concern, please contact us in advance so we can do our best to help.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors?

Answer

Yes — both our ceremony and reception will take place entirely outdoors on the rooftop. July in La Jolla can be warm and humid before sunset, with a light coastal breeze in the evening. We recommend dressing comfortably and planning accordingly for summer weather.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

Our venue is rain or shine and offers partial coverage if needed. That said, La Jolla summers are typically dry (knock on wood!), so we’re planning for beautiful sunshine — but we’re prepared either way.

Question

What time does the reception end?

Answer

The celebration will wrap up at 10:00 PM.

Question

Will there be an afterparty?

Answer

Of course! We aren't quite ready to call it a night at 10:00 PM. If you're up for extending the celebration, join us at Hennessy's Tavern after the reception for another drink or two... or three.
