This is the main area in town where you can find an assortment of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. Great for walking around & people watching! Some favorite shops to check out are Home Green Home, Mockingbird Paperie, Buffalo Street Books, Autumn Leaves Books & Angry Mom Records. Parking is free on the street & in parking garages on weekends thankfully!
The Ithaca Farmer's Market has dozens of stands ranging from flowers, home goods, locally made arts & crafts, and a variety of different food that you can sit and enjoy by the docks since it's located next to the water. It's open Saturdays 9am-3pm & Sundays 10am-3pm so catch it while you can!
Ithaca is Gorges, as they say! This is a fairly easy walk along the gorge with waterfall views. The steps are up hill though so be prepared. It is conveniently located just a couple minutes walking distance away from the Commons.
Just a short drive away from town, this state park has plenty of scenic waterfalls, hiking trails and even swimming if you want to cool down from the summer heat.
If your feeling adventurous, Taughannock Falls state park is a great place to venture out and go on an easy-moderate hike along the water, or even just to stop at the scenic overlook of the waterfall. The falls here are famously three stories taller than Niagara Falls!
