FAQ

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There is no dress code, so please wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Question

What about the possibility of bad weather?

Answer

This is a rain or shine gathering! Unless there is a major storm, all plans will remain in place. Please watch the forecast and plan your attire accordingly for the possibility of rain showers. Average daytime temps for Sept. 30 are between 46F-62F, but this is NH, so you never know!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, our photographer will take a few group and family photos with everyone. After that, our guests will be chartered back to the Lake Cruise Head Quarters. Emily and Jared will remain at the island to get their photos taken, and will leave the island afterward. In the meantime, our guests are encouraged to make their way to Inspire Café for libations and charcuterie. We will join you shortly afterward!

Question

Are you signed up with a wedding registry service?

Answer

While we don't have a registry, (we have all the basic items we need for our home), there are always home projects we're working on. Even though we have no expectations for any, we certainly wouldn't turn away any contributions toward those projects.

Question

Where should I send a card or gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all. However, if you wish to honor us with a gift, please mail it to our home address.

Question

Is there anything I should know about Church Island?

Answer

There are designated bathroom facilities on the island. Please do not touch the crosses or stand on the alter. Please do not bring any alcohol or food anywhere on the island or docks at any time. Please enjoy this sacred and beautiful place, and take as many photos as you wish. History: Church Island is a non-denominational chapel located on Chocorua Island, Squam Lake, in the town of Holderness, NH. Chocorua Island is the site of America’s first resident boys’ summer camp. Established in 1881 by Mr. Ernest Balch, it operated until 1889. The summer of 2023 marks the 120th year of the Chocorua Chapel Association.
