Jared and Emily have one phrase that they use as an expression of love for one another. "Of course." During the 2018 spring semester at Urshan College, Jared and Emily found themselves in the same class. Better yet, they ended up in the same group to work on a class project. They quickly bonded thanks to their love of The Office TV show, which she saw Jared watching during an especially boring class lecture. Over the course of the semester, they found themselves growing closer together. Jared was smitten, but he didn't know if Emily felt the same. As the semester came to a close and their project was finished, he knew that he didn't want this friendship to end. The two continued to text throughout the summer, with Jared waiting to make his move. They had a couple of missed connections but were finally able to reconnect on the 4th of July, where the two hung out with a group of friends to watch fireworks. One week later on Wednesday, July 11th, Jared decided to finally find out how Emily felt. He asked her if she wanted to go out for dinner that Friday night. He had to spend the whole night wondering what she would say since she didn't respond to him until that next morning. She said yes. They agreed on a place to go, set a time, and the date was set. On Friday, July 13th, Jared and Emily had their first date. Everything went perfectly, with the two going back to Jared's church to join his youth group for a movie night. After they said their goodbyes, they both knew that this was going to last for a long time. On January 1st, 2020, Jared took Emily to St. Charles, which is where they first hung out on July 4th, 2018. With a ring hidden in his pocket, the two of them walked around the streets of St. Charles while Jared waited for the perfect moment. He handed her a post-it note (another expression of love) and waited for her to finish reading it. When she was done reading, Jared got down on one knee and said... "Emily Russell, will you marry me?" "Of course."
