Our Story
How We Met...
It all started in the Fall '18. We were from different OT programs completing a clinical placement at the same site. First colleagues, then friends.
What started as a friendship, 3 years later turned into a relationship and now the beginning of the rest of our lives.
First Date...
After reconnecting (thanks instagram DMs), Jared asked Carly to dinner in March of '21. Carly took over an hour (of convincing) but finally agreed. We went to IL Brigante in NYC. After dinner, we walked along Pier 16 and kissed for the first time.
The Proposal...
As some of you may know, Carly isn't the easiest to surprise. She knows everything and we live together. Jared bought the ring in Dec '22 (both moms present) without her knowing.
In March '23, Jared lied about dinner with coworkers down by Pier 16 and convinced her to first walk along the pier. It was pouring rain... After she said yes, ("What. Is this real?"), we celebrated at IL Brigante.
Pier 16 will always be special to us!
