Question

So about that Covid thing...?

Answer

We are feeling optimistic about travel in September, but we understand the uncertainty. Luckily, many flights and hotels are more flexible than ever and offer free changes and cancellations. We are closely following new updates and will post here as more information becomes available. "Starting April 19, 2021, Greece will allow entry for residents of the United States, EU and Schengen states, and certain other countries. All travelers over the age of five must present a negative PCR test for entry. However, travelers who have proof they have completed COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to arrival in Greece are not required to present proof of a negative PCR test." Sourced from the US embassy website: https://gr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ If you plan to travel to several countries, make sure to check the policy for each individual country.

Question

What documentation do I need to travel to Greece?

Answer

All you need is a passport with 6 months of remaining validity and a PLF form. If you plan to rent a car in Greece you'll need a driver’s license and an international driver’s permit (IDP). An IDP can be obtained by the American Automobile Association (AAA) OR the American Automobile Touring Alliance. You do not need a travel visa or any vaccinations to travel to Greece. PLF: "All travelers who are eligible to enter Greece must complete the online Passenger Locator Form (PLF) at least 48 hours before entering Greece. See the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs post on procedures for international arrivals. Travelers with connecting flights to Greece report overnight delays for failing to fill out the PLF prior to travel." Question

How long will the wedding couple be at the resort?

Answer

We land in Greece Tuesday August 31st. We are staying at the resort from Thursday September 2nd (maybe the 1st as well) and leaving for our "honeymoon" on Wednesday August 8th. We are planning a dinner at a local restaurant the night before the wedding for all guests (September 4th). We also plan on coordinating several activities the days following the wedding for any guests who wish to join. Activities may include a visit to an olive grove, hiking, scuba diving or other water sports, a visit to a historical location like Knossos Palace or Spinalonga, or wine tasting. We may be a bit busier prior to the wedding due to wedding planning details (as our wedding planner keeps reminding us), but when we're free we'd love to spend time with friends and family who have arrived early.
