After much persuasion from both of their brothers (Jeffrey and Nathan), Alex decided to ask Jared to homecoming during junior year of high school. An awkward phone call, awkward ice-cream, and an awkward dance later, nothing happened. Months later, the two became close friends, and began spending lots of time together. One night, Jared kissed Alex spontaneously -- and they have been together ever since.

During a study abroad program to Greece, Jared got down on one knee after a beachside dinner (I know, right?!) and popped the question with a ring he had snuck all the way from the U.S. Alex had absolutely no idea, and of course said YES!
