Click on the link on the Travel tab to reserve your hotel room using our special rate by April 1st, 2026. You won't be charged anything right now. On 1/29/27, The Edition will charge you for a single night as a deposit. You'll then pay the remaining balance on your stay when you check-out. After that, book a flight to Cancun that gets you into town before 4 PM on Friday, 2/26/27. If you’re only coming for the wedding, you’ll want your return to be on Monday, 3/1/27. Once all that’s locked in, come back here when you have time to read about logistics, apparel, and more!
Good question! Technically, it does not. Here's a sneak peek into how this all works. If you don't reserve a room before April 1st, we'll take that as a sign that you definitely can't come. Remember that you don't have to pay anything until January 29, 2027. The longer you wait, the more you risk not being able to reserve the type of room you need. In the fall, we'll send everyone who has a reserved room a formal invitation. You'll get to officially RSVP, tell us about any dietary restrictions, and pick your meal for the reception. If for whatever reason your plans have changed, you'll also be able to cancel your room free of charge. We'll consider the guest list locked on December 1, 2026 and will send out a reminder about upcoming payments on Jan 1, 2027. You'll get charged a first night deposit on Jan 29, 2027 and will pay the remaining balance on your stay when you check out of the Edition.
Well, in short—a really good time! We chose this venue and this format of wedding to maximize the guest (that’s you!) experience. Our main goal is for y’all to have the best time possible, and we can’t wait to celebrate our love with you. Our wedding will span across 3 days with 4 big events: a welcome cocktail reception on Friday evening, a sunset ceremony Saturday, a big reception Saturday night, and an encore party at the beach club Sunday afternoon. You can expect 3 days of delicious food & drinks and even better vibes at every single event. All we ask is that you channel your inner party guy or gal and bring your best self out to Riviera Maya :)
Friday, 2/26/27 = We’ll have a welcome reception on the main pool deck at 7 PM. You’ll want to plan to get to the hotel around 4PM latest so that you don’t miss it! Saturday, 2/27/27 = We’ll have our ceremony around sunset on the pier, followed by cocktail hour and a ballroom reception at night. The reception will become an after-party with a few surprises around 11 PM—make sure you stick around Sunday, 2/28/27 = We’ll have an adults only day party at the beach club all afternoon 🎉🎉 Note: There is a 3 night hotel minimum and we expect all guests to attend all 3 days of events.
Yup! We programmed a lot of fun, but we know that solo chill time is important, too. You’ll have all afternoon Friday and Saturday up until the ceremony to do as you please. Maybe even join Mike for some Saturday morning Yoga 🧘 You’ll also be on your own for the rest of Sunday evening, after the beach party. We figured at that point, most of us will want to nurse our hangovers in semi-solace anyway. Kanai has plenty to keep you entertained and fed between the Edition’s beach club, lobby bar, 3 fantastic restaurants, and all of the facilities next door at the St. Regis. We HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation at Toro in the St.Regis—it’s insanely good.
We consider your presence the only gift that we want, and we know you’re already spending money in order to spend the weekend with us! As such, any additional gifts are entirely optional. If you’d still like to give us something—we’re very grateful and ask that you donate to one of the funds we have on our Zola website.
It’s pretty easy! First, you fly into Cancun airport. Then, you take ground transportation to the hotel—it’s about 20 minutes from the airport. We highly recommend arranging your car service ahead of time so that you don’t have to deal with taxis.
Stunning! The Edition brand is iconic and is known for its use of creamy interior colors, hardwood accents, and lots of plants. Rooms in our block will either have a single king bed or 2 queens. Book early to make sure you get the configuration you want! If you feel like treating yourself, you can always upgrade to bigger sized rooms that have their own plunge pools, too! Reach out to the hotel directly at +52-984-122-4999 to upgrade after reserving your Deluxe room in our block.
A room with 2 queen beds can have a maximum of 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children. A room with a King bed can have a maximum of 3 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child. If room cost is a concern, the best way to save is to bunk up with friends and relatives and to reserve your room early so you get the configuration that's best for you! If you’re on the hunt for a roommate, let us know! We’ll try to match you with someone we think would be a good vibe fit.
Absolutely! Our discounted room block price (quite the deal for high season in Playa del Carmen) is good for 3 days before and 3 days after our wedding dates. We really do hope you extend your vacation at The Edition—it’s a remarkable property! We’ll be there a few days before and after as well 🥳
Everything! The website is your best resource here, but in short—2 gigantic infinity pools, a beach club, a stunning beach, a brand new fitness center, a yoga deck, a gorgeous lobby, iconic lobby bar, and 2 full-service restaurants. You’ll be well taken care of, we promise!
We won’t say no, but just keep in mind that Kanai is an isolated, lush mangrove reserve. Which means that if you want to get to Playa Del Carmen or Cancun proper, you’ll need to take a taxi or a car there. And the only free time you have to do that will be Saturday morning or Sunday evening.
No. However, there will be plenty of food and an open bar at every single one of our wedding events. So it’s like…mostly all-inclusive! Which means that the only times you’ll be self-funded for meals will be Saturday morning and Sunday evening.
The hotel’s check-in time is 3:00 PM and the check-out time is 12:00 PM.
The hotel's water is heavily filtered, so it's safe! However, there's also bottled water all over the resort, so you really won't need to drink from the tap ever. There's nightly turn down service to make sure you'll always have a big water jug on your nightstand 🥰
The Edition is a luxury resort and Playa Del Carmen in high season is hot and sunny, so bring your best resort wear. You’ll definitely want some swimsuits, a good pair of sandals, hats, sunglasses, and lots of sunscreen. Imagine you're in an episode of "The White Lotus" — that's the energy of this hotel. For when you go out to eat on your own, we recommend having a few collared shirts, short-sleeve button downs, nice pants or preppy shorts. For ladies, think all of the above plus cute cocktail/sun dresses. Remember, because of the heat, summer fabrics like linen, cotton, and seersucker are your best friends. Leave your wool, polyester, and other heavier materials at home.
See the next few questions for specific guidance on each day. Since it’s going to be warm and sunny all weekend, it goes without saying that you’ll want summer fabrics for all your outfits—linen, seersucker, cotton, etc. Also, we give guidance below for “guys” and “girls” for ease of reference, but we all know gender is a construct. So, please feel entitled to express yourself authentically!
It’s a white party! We want you in something that is semi-formal and white. If you’re a guy, that’s probably a white button down, a pair of white pants, and some loafers. Find a white jacket if you’re feeling extra fancy, or if you’re going to wear shorts, make ‘em nice. Think J.Crew style, not workout or athletic shorts! If you’re a lady, a white cocktail dress, sundress, or romper will look beautiful. No need to have a full gown!
Officially, we’re calling the dresscode ✨Tropical Formal✨. But we know that words are hard and subject to interpretation, so here’s some more specificity about what we mean We want you in something that is a bit more formal than your Friday outfit and colorful We want to see y’all get creative: colorful jackets, suits, ties, dresses, button-down shirts, you name it! Be sure that you can easily dance the whole night in your outfit. Avoid white, beige, or cream colors or Jared will personally escort you out :) That means if you’re a man, you’ll want to have pants (no shorts) and a jacket on. If you’re a woman, you’ll want a dress that’s a bit more extravagant than what you wore Friday. You’ll also want to be in a pair of comfy shoes (or have them handy to slip into) so that you can walk from the pier to the ballroom and dance the night away. We will not be walking on sand to reach the pier, and there will be golf carts available for folks who are unable to walk through the mangrove paths to arrive at the ballroom
Wear some fun swim or resortwear. You’ll probably want to be in a bathing suit so that you can dip in the pool or the ocean. To all of our fellow gay boys in attendance—you can wear a Speedo if you’d like, but please leave the thongs and more revealing stuff at home since you’ll be strutting around our parents and elderly family members.
No jeans, cargo shorts, Hawaiian shirts, sneakers, basketball/workout shorts, baseball caps, or flip-flops. Flip-flops are only ok for the Sunday beach party.
Of course not! The Edition is super accommodating. You'll be able to let us know about your dietary restrictions when you formally RSVP as attending. We'll pass those along to the hotel to make sure you're taken care of.
We love your kids, but ask that you keep them home for the weekend. A lot of the venues at The Edition (like the beach club) are adults-only anyway. Plus—you probably need a vacation from being a parent too, right?
