Jared and I first met at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church on a Wednesday night. I was teaching my Wednesday night class; I had twelve kids and it was playtime. These kids were ages 1-16, and to say the least it was pretty chaotic. Kids were screaming, toys were being thrown, and siblings were fighting. I hear a knock at the door and a voice that said “Ya need any help in here?” I turned around to see Jared standing in the doorway. Jared says he walked past my classroom and God hit him over the head with a two by four and told him to go into my classroom. His Wednesday night Bible study had been canceled, and so he was headed to his mom and dad’s bible study instead. I had seen Jared around church, but I didn’t really know him. Jared helped me to rein in the little monsters, and I decided right there that I liked this guy. That evening after all of my kids had been picked up, I kept finding excuses to hang around so that we could keep talking. I waited for him to ask for my number, but that didn’t happen. So that night when I got home, I messaged him on Facebook. Jared didn’t message me back and I was starting to panic. It wasn’t until 8:00 am the next morning that he finally message me back. No worries, he still liked me: he just didn’t have wifi to reply. So he decided then that he would give me his number to “eliminate the confusion”. Needless to say, we never stopped talking.
